How does a treatment proceed?During a consultation, everything about implementation is discussed, ranging from wishes and questions as well as the feasibility of meeting your wishes. Almost all fillers contain a "local anesthetic" which also minimizes your discomfort during the injections. These are performed using very fine needles and flexible microcannulas. Immediately after injecting the fillers, pressure is applied with gauze. The treatment session itself takes only a few minutes, depending on the number of injections needed. You can return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure. Redness, bruising, and some swelling are common side effects of dermal filler injections, but they usually resolve within 24 to 48 hours.

What about swelling after treatment? The swelling after lip, nose, or tear trough treatment may last longer than other areas.

How does the post-treatment at home work?1. Keep the zone cool. On the day of your treatment you can cool the treated area with "Cold Packs" change these packs every 10 minutes (do not apply directly to the skin). Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours & do not expose the area to intense heat (e.g. solarium or sauna) 2. Keep calm. Avoid putting pressure on the treated areas for the first few nights. Relieve the pain with Paracetamol if necessary. 3. Keep yourself clean. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours Do not use AHA, Retinols/Vitamin C therapy or oil-based makeup for 24 hours. Avoid facials, face washes, glycol or AHA peels, IPL or energy treatments and microdermabrasion for 1 week after treatment (unless otherwise advised by the doctor). Do not massage the treated area unless advised to do so by your doctor. In patients receiving lip filler, do not smoke for at least 24 hours after receiving the injections. Even better, use this opportunity to quit smoking for good. Also, avoid wearing lipstick for 24 hours.

What is the difference between permanent and cheap fillers? The use of permanent fillers is prohibited. When permanent fillers were used, you can only remove them surgically and in extreme cases they can no longer be removed. Beware of websites and clinics at home and abroad that offer extremely low prices. There is a chance that the clinic uses a cheap filler that is not certified in Belgium or our neighboring countries. These type of fillers often come from Asia with all the consequences that entails.

When will I see results? It takes a while before you see the results of the skin improvement and skin tightening. Botulinum treatments take about 14 days before the maximum effect becomes visible. After a course of Profhilo (with two to three treatments) you will have a visible beautiful result for about 12 months. Lip, nose, chin, cheekbone and jawline fillers have immediate visible results.

Are there any side effects? There may be small bruises at the injection site. Because the injections are superficial, the chance is very small. We advise our patients not to consume alcohol or ibuprofen 24 hours before a treatment. The first hours after the treatment, small bumps are visible at the injection site. This is normal and will subside within a few hours.
